Music>Sugaree>Music
Hitchhiked a looong way to get to Alpine... and the Music>Sugaree>Music opener made the whole trip soooo worthwhile! Amazing opener for tame 82. This first night of 2, there were extra speakers strapped up on the pillars around the upper field at Alpine. And the sound came roaring out of those things all night. The second night's show, the extra speakers were all gone, and the show was very tame. the lucky ones came for the opener this first night.

The Let it Grow is off the charts!!
I must say, I am giving this show a second listen after the thread on the forum about segues. After the opening sequence I forwarded to this. Wow is all I can say. Jerry goes into the ninth dimension

ALPINE!!!!!!!
What a great place to see a show and it's even better with the dead playin at this venue. So what can I say about this show that hasn't been said already but I going to say it anyway this is the dead's finest show at alpine, Jerry's voice is on,on,on and the sugaree is my favorite from this year. Also the Althea is just perfect oh god what would we do if if there wasn't a band called the Grateful Dead. As for sound 7 out of 10 this is a must download.

Get the Dick's Pick
Oddly enough, as soon as I downloaded this one, it was released as a Dick's Pick (Volume 32). Great show with one of two Music>Sugaree>Musics ever performed. I ordered the Dick's Pick, one because I have all the others, and two, I am curious to see how the sound is. This one sounds a little on the thin side (common for 82), although I am very grateful (pun intended) for the digital age and not having n-th generation tapes to deal with anymore.

one of the best
Possibly my favorite show from my favorite year. The whole run from 7/28 to 8/10 may be their best (next to May '77 of course). Great playing, great soundboards, great Garcia voice and great set lists. What else can you ask for? Get all of the above shows along with 4/14 and they'll be in regular rotation on your cd player.
